EHS Music Events
The Everett High School bands go on three trips throughout annually. These trips are a fun way for the band members to get to know each other, while playing music for various community members. The main two trips involve overnight stays in cabins or a barn, and are
- Cornet Bay Trip: The first trip
is a full band retreat to Cornet Bay in order to practice the Big E performed
at the
homecoming
game. On the way up to the camp the band makes a customary stop for ice cream,
where everybody get a massive ice cream cone. Once at the camp the band splits
its time between practicing, playing games, and making skits.

- Heartwalk Performance: The second
trip is to the Seahawks stadium, where the jazz orchestra plays for the Heartwalk.
This
trip consists
of about an hour of performing mixed with plenty of time to explore the numerous
booths set up all over the field. Band members also get the chance to listen
to other talented groups before and after our alloted time.

- Jazz Nights: Throughout the year
the Everett High School Jazz Band has several "Jazz
Nights", which consist of most of the band's tunes strung together for
a long night of music. These nights are typically spread out throughout the
year, and they occur in the Little Theatre. Their are two intermissions during
the marathon-like event; one for pizza, the other for dessert.

- The Spring Retreat takes place
later near the end of the year. At this retreat the busses take the band
members
up
to Enfield
Ranch,
where they spend the day playing music and sports. On the following morning
we head out to the Canadian border and onwards to Harrison Hot Springs in
BC. Here the band plays a concert on the beach for all onlookers, and then
spreads out for food, swimming, and other leisure activities. That evening
we return to the ranch where we play a final concert for the ranch owners
and chaperones, then we return back to the school in the morning.
